Certified Lymphedema Therapists
Lymphatic Drainage Massage in Bluffton, SC
Gentle, specialized treatment by certified therapists -- designed to reduce swelling, support post-surgical recovery, and restore your body's natural detox pathways.
Why Align
Two Certified Lymphedema Therapists. One Practice.
Most massage therapists can perform general lymphatic work. But true Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD) requires advanced, specialized training that goes well beyond a standard massage license.
At Align Massage Center, our lymphatic drainage sessions are performed by Tracy River and Hilda Salim, both Certified Lymphedema Therapists (CLT) and Licensed Massage Therapists. The CLT credential requires hundreds of hours of additional coursework in lymphatic anatomy, pathology, and hands-on technique, making it the gold standard for lymphatic care.
Having two CLT-certified therapists on staff means more availability, shorter wait times, and the confidence that your treatment is guided by real expertise, not just general training.
Is This Right for You?
Conditions We Treat with Lymphatic Drainage
Post-Surgical Recovery
Had a procedure recently? Lymphatic drainage accelerates healing by reducing fluid buildup, minimizing bruising, and preventing fibrosis. Commonly used after cosmetic surgery, joint replacement, and cancer-related procedures.
Lymphedema Management
Living with lymphedema means ongoing management of swelling and discomfort. Our CLT-certified therapists provide targeted MLD sessions to help control symptoms and improve quality of life.
Lipedema
Lipedema causes painful fat deposits that don't respond to diet or exercise. Lymphatic drainage can help manage swelling, reduce discomfort, and support circulation in affected areas.
Whole-Body Detox & Wellness
You don't need a medical condition to benefit. Periodic lymphatic drainage supports immune function, reduces water retention, and leaves you feeling lighter and more energized after illness, travel, or high-stress periods.
Your Session
What Lymphatic Drainage Feels Like
If you're used to deep tissue massage, lymphatic drainage will feel completely different -- and that's by design.
MLD uses very light, rhythmic strokes with minimal pressure. The lymphatic vessels sit just beneath the skin, and it's the gentle, wave-like rhythm that activates them, not deep pressure. Most clients describe the experience as deeply calming, and many fall asleep during their session.
Your therapist will start by discussing your medical history and goals. For post-surgical clients, timing and technique are tailored to your stage of recovery and any physician guidance. For wellness clients, the focus is on whole-body lymphatic activation and relaxation.
Sessions are 60 minutes and start at $130.

“I've been treated by massage therapists for years and I thought I knew what a good therapist was. WRONG! It wasn't until I started going to Align that I learned the difference between a massage therapist and a medical massage therapist. They really know their stuff!”
Dale M.
“I can't recommend Align more highly! The location is convenient, the spaces are clean and welcoming, and they have many therapeutic options. After two focused massage sessions I could feel a marked improvement, and after three more, I was pain free. Align is wonderful!”

“Tracy was absolutely awesome. Great skill set. Came in with extreme stabbing pain in left neck and shoulder blade. She helped tremendously! A cut above most therapists, highly recommend.”
